A Season to be Grateful

There's a slight hint of pumpkin spice in the air despite the lingering humidity, signaling that Autumn is approaching and birds are in full migration mode. Last week, we had the pleasure of presenting to some special groups. On Thursday, we delivered our Bald Eagle program to the Quail Valley Garden Club in Missouri City. The program attracted over 100 attendees, including some wonderful young people. This club is truly generous, and we were grateful for the opportunity to present. Next, we visited the Alexander Love Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which meets in the Spring Branch area of Houston. We enjoyed sharing the mission of Wild Bird Adventures with everyone, and many members supported us by "adopting" an ambassador bird. We extend our heartfelt thanks to both organizations for their interest in bird conservation and their support.
This past Saturday marked the 17th Kleb Woods Hummingbird Festival. It was a record-breaking year for attendance, with over 2000 guests participating in the fun and educational activities. We couldn't have managed all the questions and interactions without our fantastic team of volunteers. Thanks to Erin, Blaine, Charlona, Stuart, Riki, Amber, Valerie, Amanda, and May, who did an outstanding job handling the ambassadors, answering questions, and engaging with numerous people.
