Hummingbirds and other migratory birds have begun arriving in our region. At Wild Bird Adventures, we currently have 15 hummingbird feeders set up and plan to add more as the main wave of hummingbirds passes through. These small migrants, like many others, require safe refueling stops during their challenging annual journey. Planting native flora that attracts insects and offers nectar-rich blooms is a beneficial starting point. Providing additional food at feeders is also crucial during this season, especially given the drought and heat conditions we're facing. If you're interested in learning more about hummingbirds and bird migration, consider attending the Kleb Woods Hummingbird Festival on September 12th from 9 AM to 2 PM. Wild Bird Adventures will be present with some of our raptors to promote conservation efforts. Visit our booth to meet our wonderful volunteers and discover how you can support bird populations in your own backyard.
