Wild Bird Adventures was delighted to collaborate once more with Camp Allen to host the Birds and Blooms Conference in Navasota. This marked the 14th edition of Birds and Blooms. The event gathers individuals from all over the state to celebrate and learn about birds and blooms. Attendees can participate in photography workshops, beginner birding classes, forest therapy, native plant classes, travel presentations, and more. They also discover how to use apps like eBird, Merlin, and iNaturalist. This year, we highlighted botanical art as the creative element and screened some inspiring award-winning documentaries. One of the highlights was seeing hundreds of Broad-winged Hawks migrating north over the lake on Saturday afternoon. The lakes and 1,100 acres of forested habitat provide a paradise just outside of Houston. The food is exceptional, and meals offer everyone the chance to connect over a shared passion for nature. We are truly grateful to the incredible staff at Camp Allen who help us bring the weekend together. This event sells out quickly, so be sure to mark your calendars for the weekend of March 20-22, 2026. The forest is calling, and we will return next year!
